Emily Lindsay reaches the 1000-point club

OLLAND, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team's season came to an end with a 62-48 loss at Hope College in the MIAA Semifinals on Wednesday. The Hornets played Hope even in the second half (35-35), but could not overcome an off-night shooting.

Kalamazoo struggled offensively from the start and did not score a basket until five minutes into the contest. The Hornets finished the first half shooting just 8.3 percent and finished the game at 23.1 percent. Hope shot 35.2 percent.

Emily Lindsay became the 11th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points (1,006) with 10 tonight. Lindsay hit a 3-pointer in the first half before scoring her 1,000th point on a free throw midway through the second half. She added six more points down the stretch with a pair of 3's. 

Grace Smith led the Hornets with 11 points while sinking 7-of-7 free throws. Kelsey Adamski added nine points with four assists.

Perri Nicholson scored seven points with 18 rebounds, one shy of her career high.

Kalamazoo ends its season with the second best record in school history at 16-10.
