Head coach Karen McConnell has announced that Rachel Losey will be transferring to Lourdes University this fall to play basketball for the Gray Wolves.

Losey played at Olivet Nazarene University as a freshman in 2014-2015 where she appeared in all 31 games for the Tigers off of the bench.  She averaged 3.5 points per game as a guard while shooting 35.0% from the floor.  Losey scored a season-high 12 points against Calumet after tallying 11 points against Holy Cross (Ind.).

"Rachel is an excellent three point shooter who will extend the defense," McConnell stated.  "She played in a very up-tempo system last season, and her ability to run the court and finish in transition will be very valuable to the program.  Her relentless work ethic will raise the intensity of players around her.  I am excited to have the opportunity to coach Rachel the next three years."

A native of Otter Lake, Mich., she was a three-time All-Tri Valley Conference East selection for North Branch High School.  As a senior Losey led the TVCE shooting 41% from three-point range and was the Thumb Area All-Star game Most Valuable Player that same season.  She was named the top player in Lapeer County by the local sportswriters.

Losey will have three years of eligibility remaining upon her arrival at Lourdes.
