VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton women's basketball program has received a National Letter of Intent (NLI) from five high school standouts as part of the NCAA's early signing period. All of them will join the Bearcats as freshmen next fall.

"This is a really strong class for us," head coach Linda Cimino said. "We've added height inside and length on the perimeter. We are excited to attract these quality players from winning high school programs. They are high-character individuals who love the game of basketball. They want to work hard and they know how to win. All five of them are competitors that will help take this program to the next level."

Carly Boland (Clifton Park, N.Y.) is a 6-0 guard from Shenendehowa High School. In her junior season, she earned second-team all-state honors from the New York State Sports Writers Association (NYSSWA) for the second year in a row. Boland averaged 20.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 4 assists per game in 2014-15 while leading Shenendehowa to the Suburban Council title. She's been named the Gazette Player of the Year, Times Union Player of the Year and three-time Saratogian Large School Player of the Year throughout her career. She enters her senior year with 1,168 career points. She plays AAU for the Albany Capitals.

"Carly has the ability to come in and make an immediate impact," Cimino said. "As a six foot wing she will be a tough match up. She can score in a variety of ways, she shoots the ball with great efficiency and she will help us on the defensive end because she is so long."

Payton Husson (Marysville, Mich.) is a 6-4 center from Marysville High School. During the 2014-15 season, she was named Class B first team all-state, first-team all-league team, and was the MVP of the Macomb Athletic Conference Gold Division, leading her team to an 18-5 record. She averaged 16.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks. She plays AAU for the Michigan Cagers.

"Payton brings a unique size to our program," Cimino said. "At 6'4, she gets up and down the floor very well and has good back-to-the basket post moves. We look for her to learn from Alyssa (James), get bigger and stronger and make her presence known."

Karlee Krchnavi (Quakertown, Pa.) is a 6-0 forward from Palisades High School. As a junior, she averaged 17.9 and 12.0 rebounds per game and led the Pirates to the District 11 playoffs. She was named third-team all-state at the Class AA level and was named first-team all-league. Krchnavi enters her senior year with 1,192 career points. She plays AAU for the Lehigh Valley Fever.

"Karlee is an outstanding athlete who is going to make a huge impact on defense," Cimino said. "She has a high motor and is a very active and aggressive player. She is going to be a big addition for us at the four position, bringing versatility and depth to that spot.

Kai Moon (Bolingbrook, IL) is a 5-6 combo guard from Nequa Valley High School. The all-state guard averaged 15 points, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists as a junior. She was named first-team all-area Chicago Tribune, first-team all-Upstate Eight Conference (UEC), and first-team All-Naperville Sun in leading her team to the UEC Valley title and third consecutive regional championship. She is ranked the 74th best point guard in the class of 2016 by ESPNW HoopGurlz. She plays AAU for the Midwest Elite.
 
"Kai is a dynamic combo guard," Cimino said. "She can shoot the three, attack the basket and create opportunities for her teammates. She is a mix between Jasmine (Sina) and Imani (Watkins) and has the potential to make a very big impact right away."

Bailey Williams (Dublin, Ohio) is a 5-10 guard from Dublin Jerome High School. As a junior, she was named second-team Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) and was an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-District selection.  As a junior, she averaged 12.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. A three point shooting specialist, she shoots 48 percent from the three-point line. She plays AAU for Dayton Metro.

"Bailey is a strong guard and a phenomenal three point shooter," Cimino said. "She has great size and deep range. She is going to be a very good addition at the wing for us because she is such an efficient shooter."

Binghamton opens its 2015-16 on Saturday at Michigan at noon.
