BANGOR TOWNSHIP, MI -- On the basketball court, John Glenn's Carly McCrum usually has an answer for anything thrown her way.

The sophomore sensation can hit from the outside, score on the inside and do whatever it takes to get the job done.

But her teammates were curious to see if she had an answer for everything off the court.

After McCrum captured the MLive Bay City Athlete of the Week honor in an online poll of readers, the Bobcats gathered to ask her a barrage of questions. Check out the video to see the results.

Area coaches are asked to report results and highlights the night of every game by emailing bcsports@mlive.com. Athlete of the Week nominees are culled from reports.

McCrum has been the go-to player for the Bobcats since earning an instant varsity callup as a freshman. The left-handed shooter averaged 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last season and has improved on those numbers in her second go-round.

She poured in 23 points in a 49-33 win over Bay City Central and tallied 13 in a 63-19 win over Ogemaw Heights to earn her place on the Athlete of the Week ballot.

On a busy poll that saw 34,102 ballots cast, McCrum led the way with 11,641, good for 31.4 percent. She outlasted All Saints' Alex Czyzewski, who tallied 8,310 votes.

Oscoda's Lauren Langley topped 3,000 votes, Tawas' Camden Groff, Essexville Garber's Jacob Denham and Bay City Central's Elias Ramirez all surpassed 2,000 votes and Whittemore-Prescott's Lexi Hart and Pinconning's Zach Johnson all drew more than 1,000 votes of support.
